March is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month.

As part of our Health and Wellbeing work, staff from NECS took part in the ‘Big Colour Clash’ day on Friday 10th March 2017 by wearing their boldest and brightest clothes.

Information about ovarian cancer was available to staff and over the course of the month information relating to ovarian cancer will be cascaded to staff through blogs and health and wellbeing notice boards.

Currently in the UK, around 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer with around 4,100 losing their lives each year.  Far too many woman are diagnosed too late, making treatment more difficult. By raising awareness more women can be diagnosed sooner.
