March is National Prostate Cancer Awareness month.
As part of our Health and Wellbeing work, staff from NECS took part in a ‘Brew and Bake’ day on Friday 31st March to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
The idea behind Brew and Bake day was to get together with colleagues, have a brew, eat cake (or a biscuit!) and take a few minutes to talk about our health and wellbeing, specifically the prostate cancer campaign.
Over 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year, with more than 11,000 dying from the cancer each year.
Information about the signs and symptoms of prostate cancer and where to find more information has been cascaded to staff over the course of the month through blogs and health and wellbeing notice boards.
