NECS has become the first NHS organisation to become accredited against the Chartered Management Consultant Award.
The Chartered Management Consultant Award is the highest status that can be achieved by a professional management consultant and is supported and managed by both Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) ensuring its relevance to both the individual and the profession.
NECS works across the UK to support health and social care customers in meeting strategic and operational challenges, to improve outcomes and increase efficiency, with the Consultancy Unit offering bespoke consultancy services to public sector organisations within the NHS and Local Authorities. The Consultancy unit works with executive teams across health economies to help them achieve their goals and to create real sustainable change in order to improve and transform service provision.
Alistair Robson, Head of Consultancy for NECS said: “Our hard work has paid off, I am so proud to announce that our in-house training and development programme for Management Consultants has now been accredited against the Chartered Management Consultant Award.”
Central to the Award is the Competency Framework which organisations can compare their own development and capabilities against to establish the degree to which they match the criteria and to determine what additionally they must do to meet the standards set.
By having an in-house development programme accredited against the Competency Framework it proves it has met the standard required for knowledge, understanding and professional practice.
Stephen Childs, Managing Director for NECS added: “I am extremely proud of the high standards of professional development and achievement of our Consultancy team. Having consultants that are working towards the Chartered Management Consultant Award (MCMI ChMC) through our in-house accredited programme tells our clients that the consultancy they will receive has been benchmarked against a recognised Professional Standard.”
Tamzen Isacsson, Chief Executive of the Management Consultancies Association (MCA), said: “This initiative has been developed for the purpose of setting and maintaining the highest standards in the management consulting profession and creating an award which recognises consistent, high levels of professional competency and achievement. We are delighted that NECS Consultancy has become the first NHS organisation to become accredited for an award which will be a step change for our industry and that this has been achieved during an exceptionally challenging and busy period for the firm.”
