International Nurses’ Day #BestOfNursing

International Nurses’ Day #BestOfNursing

International Nurses’ Day takes place each year on 12 May, a date selected to coincide with the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, a symbol of pioneering nursing and provides a platform to celebrate the significant role that nursing colleagues play across the globe.

This year’s theme is #BestOfNursing.

Using International Nurses’ Day as inspiration, we asked our NECS colleagues to share their #BestOfNursing story or a memory of a best moment of their nursing career. Find out more below. Click on the each case study to view as a pdf document.

We have also produced a collage photograph of NECS colleagues (see above) who are, or have been registered nurses throughout their career to highlight that nursing can lead to many different career opportunities.

Pictured in the collage (at various proud moments of their nursing career) are:

  • Debra, Andy and Sandra (as above)
  • Catherine Poxon, Clinical Team Leader, North Cumbria CHC Team
  • Lesley Wills, Senior Locality Nurse, North Cumbria CHC Team
  • Linda Secka, Senior Locality Nurse, North Cumbria CHC Team
  • Louise Johnson, CHC Locality Lead, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities
  • Sharon Owen, Clinical and Operational Lead, CHC Team
  • Philip Haselhurst, Senior Operational Lead, All Age Continuing Care and LeDeR
  • Mary Nixon, CHC Locality Lead

Thank you very much to everyone who has shared their story or photograph with us.
