The IT Team were also shortlisted for Best Not For Profit Sector IT Project, for the project NHS Wi-Fi: Paving the way for Digital Patient Care.
Introducing free Wi-Fi services in NHS locations in response to patient feedback was a key aim of the Digital Care Programme, and the General Practice Forward View (NHS England, 2016) made a commitment to provide Wi-Fi services in general practice for staff and patients within practice settings. This project enables a secure, stable and reliable Wi-Fi capability, allowing patients and citizens to download health apps, browse the internet and access health and care information empowering them to take more of an active role in discussing and managing their condition, which leads to better health outcomes.
Well done to the team.
