Plasticine people continue to help patients choose the right NHS service

The plasticine people campaign will continue this Winter across the North East and North Cumbria with messages focused on best use of NHS services.

The campaign first launched in Winter 2016 with the aim of raising awareness and influencing people’s decisions about best use of health services in order to improve patient flow across the regional health system.

Campaign messages that will be delivered by the friendly plasticine characters include:

  • General Winter health messages (coughs and colds, self care, first aid kits)
  • GP practice and pharmacy festive opening times
  • Antibiotics messages
  • Promotion of the NHS Child Health App

The campaign has been developed by the North East Urgent and Emergency Care Network and will run for 12 months, mapped against peak surge activity at key times of the year. It will complement the integrated, national winter campaign agreed by NHS England, Public Health England and the Department of Health to deliver planned, locally tailored communications activities during the winter period.
