NECS will hold its annual charity golf day on 20 June 20025 at Wynyard Golf Course with all proceeds of the day going to the Macmillan Toon Angels Fundraising Group, who organise events throughout the year and raise money for Macmillan in the North East.
The day will start at 11:30am, with coffee and bacon sandwiches (veggie/vegan options also available). There will be an hour and a half to enjoy your breakfast, network with colleagues and meet and assess your fellow opponents!
The first teeing off will be at 1:00pm with a Texas Scramble (a shotgun start), where teams of four golfers tee off simultaneously from different holes, and the team score for each hole is determined by the best shot from all team members, with each player then playing their next shot from that spot. There will be a maximum handicap of 18 for men and 28 for women.
Even though this event is to raise money for a great cause, it wouldn’t be a NECS tournament without a little bit of competition. Therefore, there will be prizes for the closest to the pin on all par threes, beat the Pro and the winning team.
Following on from the golf, there will be an auction for items kindly donated to help raise more money. We’re still looking for donations for prizes, so if you or someone you know, would like to donate something for this great cause, please let us know, all items are gratefully received. Chip and pin facilities will be available at the venue.
Graeme Allen, Digital Transformation and Optimisation Consultant at NECS, said: “The day is to raise money for a worthy cause which has, or will impact us all, while having fun at the same time. The event is getting stronger each year and feedback has been so positive about the day being a good laugh with friends and colleagues. On day, fun comes first and golf second. Thank you to the people who keep coming back and for helping make this a day in the golfing calendar, a day that people look forward to, and to the team who help me put it together.”
If you would like to know how much it costs to join the tournament or require any further information on the event, go to the official fundraising page or contact Graeme Allen at Graeme.allen2@nhs.net or 07772617805.
If you are unable to attend the event and but would like to make a donation, you can do that here anytime.
No ifs or putts…. let’s make it a par-fect day!
