Ian Davison
Business Information Services Director, Chief Digital and Information Officer
With over 20 years of experience in the NHS, Ian is one of the founding directors of NECS and has a passion for delivering high quality, efficient and innovative services.
Ian’s career began in the private sector in technical, project management and leadership roles across manufacturing, retail and consultancy. He now heads up Business Information Services, our largest directorate, which has over 650 team members and is responsible for delivering ICT infrastructure management, ICT service desk, programmes and projects, digital transformation, systems and application development, business intelligence and data management.
Ian has accountability for all our internal IT systems and business intelligence requirements, as well as those of our customers. He has expanded the geographical reach of the team, which now provides services across the country, from the North East and North Cumbria to London, the South East and South West.
Ian said: “Business Information Services creates and delivers products and services which genuinely make a difference to our customers and their patients. I love the variety of work and the flexibility we have to be innovative at NECS, making the biggest impact possible.”
In his spare time, Ian is a keen cyclist and part of a Durham mountain biking group which has travelled as far afield as the Alps. He is a skilled DIY enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family and walking his dog, Bramble.
