Michael van Hemert
Managing Director
Michael was appointed to the role of Managing Director of all four Commissioning Support Units (CSU) in April 2024. This includes NECS, Arden & GEM, Midlands and Lancashire, and South, Central and West (SCW).
Michael joined the NHS nine years ago as a CSU Managing Director and enjoys being part of the NHS, particularly being part of the CSU family.
He is an experienced leader of business service organisations in the commercial sector and the NHS and has a track record in strategy development, service management and business turnaround.
Michael champions a customer centric approach, driving higher quality and standardised operations.
Michael said: “CSUs are full of talented people and I am immensely proud to be a part of it and the NHS, providing insight, innovation and best practice sharing to meet the current and future needs of our partners.”
In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and his very needy cockapoo dog!
