Georgina Scully

“International Women’s Day takes place on Friday 8 March. The day is all about recognising and celebrating the exceptional achievements of women globally. In light of this, I would like to share some of my own achievements. Since completing my Masters in Health Psychology in August 2023, NECS has given me my first career opportunity, aligning perfectly with my interests and goals. It’s truly inspiring to be surrounded by so many accomplished women in this organisation, serving as continual motivation for others.

“Additionally, I’m thrilled to have recently been invited to publish my master’s thesis on health literacy and Electronic Health Record (EHR) use – an exciting achievement. In addition to advancing knowledge, my publication marks a stride towards addressing gender disparities in academic publishing, where male voices frequently dominate the landscape. I hope that sharing my insights is a step toward inclusivity and celebrating women’s remarkable achievements. Here’s to fostering a more inclusive world!

“Happy International Women’s Day!”

“To my younger self, I know times are hard right now and it feels like you will never make it after all you have been through, but trust me when I say, you are on the right path and will find your way. You have a world of strength inside you that you are not aware of and though you are suffering now, one day you will be happy and unapologetically you, and nothing is more beautiful than being our true and whole selves.”
