NECS is proud to have achieved the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the delivery of our project and programme management services.

ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised quality management systems standard and helps ensure our quality of service is clear, repeatable and defines our commitment to creating products and services that consistently meet both customer and regulatory requirements.

Through the introduction of the NECS project management minimum standards and a refresh of the entire project and programme delivery approach, we have been able to ensure clear and repeatable processes are in place in order to effectively manage quality.

The achievement comes following a comprehensive programme to deliver:

  • Revised organisational level assurance controls and a realignment of corporate governance to create a dedicated Quality Committee.
  • A project classification process to ensure an appropriate application of standards and controls, together with the introduction of a set of project and programme minimum standards to align quality and consistency in delivery.
  • An overhauled Project Management Centre of Excellence resource, with guidance, tools, templates and best practice examples.
  • A Corporate Project Management Office to provide oversight, guidance, and support together with a comprehensive training offer.
  • The NECS Project Management Network – a communication channel and regular bulletins to share key messages and updates direct to colleagues who work on the delivery of projects and programmes across NECS.   

Ian Davison, Director of BIS and NECS Quality Owner said:

“I’m delighted that we’ve achieved ISO9001 certification. It’s the culmination of a lot of hard work, not just from the team leading the 9001 process, but from a much wider group of people across the organisation.  Receiving this accreditation is a significant external recognition of our approach to the continuous improvement of the quality of what we do and reinforces what we already knew internally within NECS i.e. that we provide great services and products to our customers. We mustn’t rest on our laurels though, we must continuously improve the quality of all that we do, and please remember ‘quality is everybody’s business’.”

The certification will ensure we deliver to a high standard, together with continually measuring and improving every aspect of our operations to maintain customer satisfaction. The achievement of ISO 9001 supports the ever-expanding suite of ISO certifications, with NECS already holding ISO 27001 (Data Security) and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity).
