For the eighth year running, our very own NECS Service Desk has maintained International Accreditation from the Service Desk Institute.

The Service Desk Institute Programme is an internationally recognised accreditation designed to certify a service desk’s quality. Service Desks are scored and accredited based on the following nine concepts:

  1. Leadership
  2. Policy & Strategy
  3. People Management
  4. Resources
  5. Processes & Procedures
  6. Managing Employee Satisfaction
  7. Managing the Customer Experience
  8. Management Information & Performance Results
  9. Corporate Social Responsibility.

Following this year’s surveillance audit, our Service Desk has been awarded a 3-star accreditation, which represents an improvement on the score in 2021. Since our first accreditation in 2014, NECS is the only NHS CSU to hold 3-star accreditation.

Ian Harrison, ICT Service Delivery Manager said: “It is fantastic that we’ve not only retained our score, but improved it from 2021. The team has worked hard over the past 12 months with a focus on continuous improvement and learning. The whole team, from the Service Desk, other service delivery teams, Infrastructure and Customer Liaison has contributed and should be proud of the achievement.”

This accreditation has come as a result of the hard work of the entire ICT Service Desk and its supporting teams. Find out more about our ICT Service Desk.
