NECS has sustained its Better Health at Work Award status for the third year running, after meeting the exacting requirements of the award assessors.
The Maintaining Excellence award recognises the efforts of employers in proactively addressing health and wellbeing issues within the workplace. It is achieved by progressing through a series of levels – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Continuing Excellence and Maintaining Excellence via the completion of a criteria document, portfolio and full workplace assessment. NECS has also been awarded Ambassador Status in recognition of a long-term commitment and outstanding practice around workplace health and wellbeing – not only achieving, but consistently going above and beyond at every stage of the assessment.
Claire Gooday, NECS Director of Corporate Services and Organisational Development said:
“This is a great achievement and testament to the hard work undertaken by staff across the organisation over the last 12 months, which for many was a challenging one.
“As a result, health and wellbeing has been in the spotlight at NECS. We have a vibrant Health and Wellbeing Group and colleagues have access to services such as the Employee Assistance Programme, Mental Health First Aiders and a comprehensive range of health and wellness training. The group and others have provided timely information and signposted access to support on issues that impact our staff and we have run a range of health promotion campaigns.”
