Our final International Women’s Day message comes from NECS’ Clinical Services and Operations Director, Shane Longden, who encourages men to engage in collective reflection and learning to support all women in their journey to equal rights.
“International Women’s Day (IWD) serves as a valuable opportunity to not only celebrate the remarkable achievements of women, but also to confront and bridge gender gaps within the community. It is important for men to engage in collective reflection and learning, in order to support women on this journey to equal rights.
“I take great pride in leading a directorate containing a large proportion of women. The diverse skills and expertise they bring not only enhance our services, but also positively impacts the community we serve. Effective partnership requires a collaborative effort from all parties to achieve our shared objectives.
“I have a daughter of my own and she’s one of the strongest, most kind hearted girls I know. I hope she can continue to advance and promote the fantastic achievements of women.”
