For the third year in a row, the success of NECS Consultancy team has been recognised by the judging panel of the Management Consultancies Associates (MCA) Awards.

The MCA is the representative body for the UK consulting sector and its annual awards demonstrate the positive impact consulting has on our society. The finalists for the 2023 MCA Awards have been announced today and include two members of the Consultancy team and a project delivered by the team.

Lucy Armstrong, a senior consultant from the NECS Consultancy London Team, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Rising Star Award.  This is for individuals with 0-3 years consulting experience, who have demonstrated their potential and delivered positive impact.

Lucy said: “I am completely shocked and very honoured to be a finalist for the Rising Star category at the 2023 MCA awards. I have learned so much in the last year and have had so many highlights such as Consultancy away days, working on the Accessible Information Standard review and now working on the Data for Research and Development programme. I am so grateful for the colleagues around me who have guided me on my journey, this nomination is truly a reflection of the wonderful work and people at NECS, and I am so excited to see what comes next”.

Chris Sparrow, Regional Lead for the North West, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Team Leader Consultant of the Year Award. This award is for consultants who demonstrate exceptional performance in building and leading project teams and working effectively with clients.

Chris said “I am incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for the MCA Team Leader Consultant of the Year Award. This would not have been possible without my exceptional team. Together, we have delivered fantastic collaborative programmes with our valued NHS clients. We have built a culture of success underpinned by trust, openness and respect.”

The South West regional Consultancy team has also been shortlisted as a finalist for the Strategy Project of the Year Award.  This is for collaboration work to develop local priorities with Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Partnership (BNSSG ICB). This will be awarded to the project that the judges believe most powerfully illustrates the positive impact and quality of modern consulting.

Peter Lister, Regional Lead South West at NECS Consultancy, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the 2023 MCA Strategy Award for our work with the Integrated Care System in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). Our team worked with health and social care colleagues across the regional system, BNSSG and locality partnerships to co-produce a set of schedules of emerging priorities for each of the six localities. These included an evidence base drawn from Population Health Analysis at locality level, jointly agreed problem statements and root cause analyses from which SMART objectives were identified.

“Our team demonstrated a flexible and innovative approach to strategic problem solving and supported BNSSG in shaping a method for planning priorities which will deliver real and lasting change to communities and to the ICS, which is aligned with the system’s planning and transformation agenda”.

For the next stage of the process, both Lucy and the NECS Consultancy South West team will be interviewed by the MCA Awards judging panel in June, before the winners are announced at the awards ceremony on Monday 9 October at Grosvenor Hotel, London.
